Astrology of 11/2 – 11/8: Ideas Transforming The World

This week the now-separating Sun-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio will be the jumping off point for ongoing discoveries, as both Mercury and the Sun will sextile Pluto in Capricorn. This is a harmonic that supports personal transformation of one’s being and of our thoughts. Saturn in Sagittarius is in the very middle of this configuration, forming a semi-sextile to each the Sun, Mercury and Pluto; and Saturn is part of an ongoing major transit of squaring the nodal axis of the Moon (karma, destiny, evolution). This has been the planet we associate with concrete reality, and the functioning of reality, as well as all conditions and boundaries we place on reality (Saturn), at a major evolutionary crossroads. There is a definite global tension brought into everyday awareness with this transit around how laws and systems of society fail to meet basic, natural needs.

First, we can imagine the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio as ideas that are immediately apparent and illuminated within consciousness. It is the ability to observe now, at a greater depth, the information exchanges that are occurring, including information on psychic and subliminal channels. With this, there is an extra potency associated with the exchange of information or personal charisma/radiance. On a political scale, this transit reminds me of whistleblowers taking secrets from the government and exposing it to the citizenry. Stripped down of social context and into the nature of this archetype, the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio is bringing secret messages into the light of day. But why are they secrets? With or without a reason; these are simply pieces of information that we did not or could not access before. There is a certain burning desire to merge creativity and cognition, and this includes the possibility of heightened information which destroys that which was known before, and gives birth to new impulses within the creative psyche.

If you follow, and find yourself here this week (you may also induce it via consulting psychics this week – your psychic friends, readers, or personal divination practices of your own): this very energy is dissolving into Saturn in Sagittarius, the planet at the crossroads of a collective destiny. By “dissolving”, I mean that Mercury and the Sun are finishing up a cycle with Saturn, and this is the mystical reckoning of that. This can translate to illuminating ideas or cognition that reveals walls, boundaries and social conditioning that do not serve you any longer. The purpose of this relates to Saturn and it’s storyline with the nodal axis: to become more and more discerning (Virgo) and responsible for more pieces of one’s reality, rather than having an external script write it for us. Additionally, we may hold beliefs that create a feeling of hopelessness in some regard, beliefs that limit reality in some way that is not actually true. These beliefs also include judgements and whatever restrictive forces within that creates in cognition as well as the resulting reality.

Another image for the vibration of the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio is a masquerade party and the connections that form between strangers who, because they are wearing masks, are on the one hand armored/guarded, and on another psychic level, very open to be unusual, strange, and say things they wouldn’t normally say. These kinds of encounters of the night reveal through more accessible channels (like outright verbal communication) the enigmatic inner-worlds of others and ourselves.

The sextile that the Sun and Mercury form to Pluto this week intensifies this storyline, and because Pluto is in Capricorn, it doubly emphasizes the nature of these hidden messages coming forward to have the purpose of transforming judgement and that which is overly rigid and stuck in consciousness. With Saturn in Sagittarius also forming a balsamic semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, it offers the chance for judgements to simply die. This naturally creates a transitional space in which old patterns are no longer rewarding or hold any kind of value; however, as we dig deep or really look within for resonance, we can get in touch with new vision to focus on to bring us through the passage of transition. For Saturn and Pluto, the new energy they will be creating together begins to come into more obvious and concrete form in January of 2020. With this long of a glance out, we can think of the nature of how we are all in this together and that the world stage is an energetic melding of all of us, our collective consciousness and unconsciousness. If you are coming into a deeper awareness of who you really are, you are doing energy work for the whole planet. Some examples of this may be identifying as whatever gender you feel you are, cultivating your life how you are truly inspired to, having a direct relationship with the energy bodies/chakras, having a direct relationship with the non-linearity of time (such as having a sleeping dream that then occurs in your waking life), or a direct relationship with the Soul (who you are beyond this particular incarnation, sharing dreams on the dream plane with other people who are soul connections, etc). Some of those things I just said may be perceived as esoteric, but one could argue they are very natural. Just a a tree cannot grow from the floor of a skyscraper, certain experiences within consciousness cannot be easily experienced when one is living inside of cultural norms that do not facilitate them, and see them as delusional or at the least, not provable.

On the world stage, this can also speak to a necessity of dissolving patriarchal conditioning and the dominance of left-brained thinking that suggests that the only things that are effectual are seen, tangible and able to be externally quantified, measured, observed. In turn, this is negating the yin and feeling worlds as ineffectual, not validating them, and not speaking of them in the world so that people know they exist or matter.  It is an opportunity for more and more beings within the collective to directly experience the other realities available to us because they naturally exist, whether or not they are seen as culturally, religiously or scientifically valid. The argument between consensus science and religion is so clearly drawing a parallel between the two: the scientific proof of certain phenomena gives permission for people to experience them just as religion gives people permission and boundaries around what to believe. It is a time where the collective may wake up to the reality that not all experiential reality needs to be justified by external authority/institution for it to be real. This itself is a limitation and a power imbalance that creates the global experience of needing to have a government at all, as we are still on a collective level working through paradigms of hierarchy, dominance and control. More will be seen in 2020 when Saturn and Pluto are conjunct, as to how we collectively transform this paradigm and embark on more enlightened forms of governance. Institutions of power are in process of burning through centuries of total social conditioning, while this also creates a simultaneous psychology of institutions of power wanting to hold on for dear life to that which they know and are secure with. Collectively we do not need to destroy that which we don’t understand but feel oppressed by (on either ‘side’ of any conflict however the balance of power appears; it is more kaleidoscopic than black and white). The polarity and the dualism can also melt away. Understanding and compassion can replace judgement and persecution. However dismal world affairs can seem, consider that they are energetically affected by the vibrational realities of the people living inside of the network. Imagination, innovation and trail blazing are lights here to focus on, as they are highly creative agents of evolution.

We also have harmonic activity between Venus in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries trining this week. This speaks to all sorts of exciting discoveries about love and relationship and how we feel naturally inclined to engage with ourselves and each other in creative, inventive, and radically authentic ways. ‘Interruptions to scheduled programming’ may show up to loosen attachment to habits that have taken the place of a direct relationship with experience, nature and ourselves. When these detours show up, they are most likely adventures if we allow them to be. This transit resonates with spontaneity and wildness, and can have the affect of liberating consciousness in ways that allow for a more enjoyable and pleasurable experience of life. This transit also heightens the pleasure and romance around doing new things.

Oh and – The internet (Uranus) is on fire with people’s opinions (Sagittarius) and brewing revolution (Standing Rock, climate, race relations). Uranus in Aries is conjunct war Goddess Eris. As I began writing this forecast, it was just before #NoDAPL sparked over a million and counting of online check-ins at Standing Rock in solidarity. This is an example of this Uranian astrology at play. The emotions are running high and people’s hearts, minds, and bodies are on the line regarding extreme issues which are at tipping point. There is a difficulty here with alienation and polar dualities; yet intellectualizing this alone does not mean we don’t need to live it out and experience it. Uranus brings up rapid acceleration of events in a way we can easily recognize as radical. While the conflict is raising in intensity, it is also sinking into the collective mind the possibility that change might actually be in the air, and that we might actually have something to do with that change. People respond to Uranian energies by joining mass movements that seek to break the status quo, individualizing (objectively or in response to something else), or joining mass movements that seek to uphold the status quo. No matter where it goes, it is an agent of all things radical.

On the 7th, we have a First Quarter Moon in Aquarius (12:51 PM PST) and end the week with Mars leaving Capricorn and moving into Aquarius on the 8th. Both of these influences invite ingenuity. The First Quarter Moon in Aquarius signals a transition in the Moon Cycle starting from the New Moon in Scorpio we had on the 30th. In Scorpio we become very aware of our desire nature, what we wish to move toward. Aquarius relates to the network, higher mind, and hive consciousness, and it is a confrontational (ninety degree angle) energy in relation to Scorpio. So that is, our desire nature and deeper underlying vibration is in direct contact with who we are attracted to, and what communities we feel like engaging with. Scorpio and Aquarius can have a very psychic resonance together, such as having a desire and then having a friend contact you and ask you if you’d like to go do that thing you were just wishing you were doing. The First Quarter Moon can bring some awareness to who we are resonating with right now. It can also be a moment of stepping out of conditioned frameworks and into something more inventive for us, relative to what we are wishing to draw into our life. For what we are wishing to separate from or let go of, Aquarius is the perfect archetype of detachment for just that.

Mars in Aquarius brings the collective will and impulse into the vibration of Aquarius. Mars’ and our will is directed toward fitting in with group consciousness, or toward channeling one’s total uniqueness. The will is vitalized via innovation and objectivity, and we feel the electricity of discovering new things in a very heated, primal kind of way. This can be touchy for people, especially when the innovation is directed oppositionally to that which came before it. Liberation is no joke unless it is. Bringing in the Leo polarity point, engaging the heart and playfulness, and true excitement and love of becoming one’s radiant self, the Mars in Aquarius vibe can be a lot more enjoyable. Whether one is part of the ruling class or is an activist in opposition, acting with a closed heart feels kind of sharp and dangerous in a way that acting with an open heart would be profoundly revolutionary in a way that does not have to propel suffering in the world.

I’m very happy to see so many people interested in astrology, when I first got into it when I was younger it seemed like an isolating thing rather than a connected community so I am very happy to share! Thanks for reading Wendi <3
