Chiron is Your Medicinal Property

Chiron relates to what kind of medicine we hold in our energetic field. It’s an area of life in which we know profound depths because of a wound. In the engagement that a wound asks of us, we develop deeply authentic medicine, or even a superpower depending on how you look at it.

Those of us who like herbal medicine might know plant personalities by their medicinal properties. Same for gemstones.

How often do you know yourself or other humans by their medicinal properties, though? Like, this person holds in their energetic field a key to overcoming addiction, this person helps with opening to greater receptivity and self-love, or this person enhances psychic capacity. Like a plant or a gemstone, the medicine can’t only be reduced to a few key words, but I digress. Why does the framework of there being healing properties of gemstones or plants not also extend to the human?

People who are really connected to their Chiron (or if you meet people who are situated in their Chiron – i.e. they are playing the role of guide, therapist, teacher, medicine-person, healer, etc.) also have their own medicinal property, their own medicinal field.

Chiron is an asteroid that bridges the planets we can see with the naked eye (up to Saturn) and the transpersonal outer planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

People who are doing Chiron in some way are also bridges between the transpersonal or unseen realms and this realm we agree upon as reality, or what is in the commons. Chirotic people do so by having a special key. Where others see walls and boundaries, a futile endpoint, the Chirotic sees a gate with a keyhole. Whether it is a psychic who grasps subtle information from the collective field or a speech therapist who has specialized tools to help people overcome a speech impediment, when people access their Chiron it often relates to a specialty which is rarefied and valuable.

While some people do Chiron in their job, in a specific setting and container, we also vibrate Chiron via our energy fields, like when you meet someone who just has a particular type of healing presence.

Another way to get a sense of how people live their Chiron is to imagine people in your life as dream symbols, and what their influence or your perception of them means to you. Or to consider any reflections you’ve gotten back on how you affect others. Is there a common theme? That could be your Chirotic, medicinal property.

And yes, Chiron is a wound too. It’s a place where healing feels redemptive, though, and where we access expanded knowledge about medicine because we’ve lived the transformation. The Chiron medicine is in the wound. Chiron is the powerful public speaker who once felt their throat close up whenever they tried to talk, the person living with wealth and abundance who grew up never having enough, or the father learning how to father his kids even though he never had a father figure himself.

Chiron wasn’t just wounded; Chiron was also a philosopher. In our charts Chiron relates to what kinds of pain and seemingly futile limitations we face that push us to ask deeper questions and to enter into an initiatory path of rarefied knowledge. Anyone who heals or guides others through territory they once were wounded by is doing Chiron.

I know it’s a cliche, “the medicine is in the wound”, but when that clicks for an individual, it truly is a spectacular, redemptive moment.

Everyone has Chiron in their chart. The question is where, and how significant or developed it is in that person’s life.

Thoughts? (Also, my favorite book on Chiron so far is The Rainbow Bridge by Barbara Hand Clow. I recommend it highly, for anyone still trying to get a grasp on what the Chiron archetype is.)

You just blew my mind apart. When I met a former boyfriend, I used to write about how being with him was like peering through a keyhole, into the sacred.
He was a cancer sun, a few degrees away from my Chiron.

My Chiron is in my 8th house of Gemini along with my mars. Sometimes it is seen as the 9th house. My Chiron is in cancer. I see it as I didn’t have a strong bond with my mother, but am mothering to others.

I like the positive tone of this post. I will start looking at Chiron as medicine as opposed to a wound because actually that makes so much sense. Now that I think about it, I’m reminded of a quote often said by Sevan Bomar – the poison and the cure are the same thing.

Well, I have chiron in 7th libra along with my north node. My chiron trines my venus in 11th aquarius. I’m a male and i’ve found that getting in touch with my inner anima has been a very enlightening path. Also, balancing my female friendships (many of my best friends have been female) with my female relationship(s) has been very hard, i’ve had to redefine what a relationship actually is.
I’ve really found my voice as a songwriter as well! Used to have such a hard time writing songs, yet now they flow out of me like water.

Also Sabrina, I was about to pledge $5/mo over patreon, however you got rid of it. Is there any other way I can support you? I find your email updates incredibly insightful and valuable.

    Take care.

This is such a sweet interpretation, seems Chiron has a fierce character like Saturn. But, when we delve deeper and truly practice planetary magic we found something so pure and beautiful.
