Pluto goes direct in a few hours, friends… so a few thoughts on the vibration of desire. Desire is a catalyst for evolution in that it has a Soul acknowledge what it is not or not yet and so it begins a journey of merging with that coveted something else. But it is not always so crystal clear a path – Pluto and desire are host to many different psychological compulsions and fixations as well as potently the act of projecting, and all of this can cloud the storyline.
Though this astrologer is speaking of a specific Pluto placement, consider this idea for Pluto phenomenon all the same: “The Pluto in Scorpio/8th house person will experience the cutting edge of this dilemma in metamorphosis – that in changing they grow, but that in order to change they must experience dissatisfaction or even revulsion at where they currently are.” (From Healing the Soul by Mark Jones)
This is a post to honor THAT experience of desire… the kind that is altogether frustrating at the onset. The frustration is not the part that feels good – that is only the hood over the hidden gift. The gift is liberating the rich treasure underneath that we would chance to overlook if we chose to resist the pain of that kind of desire and to settle for a pleasant surface distraction instead. We yearn for that which we are part of, even if what we are really part of we have projected onto another symbol on the outside. Our Soul knows no bounds (it’s the ego that does…) It is our journey of connecting and merging to something else that brings us into contact with our sacred yearning, that ultimate form of desire that is connected to desiring to be one with Source.

I recently heard a woman speak about longing, as as she spoke about longing I felt as though she was winking in her entire essence, like “LONGING” was yes, at last, the key! My question was does the Universe meet us at our longing? I thought yes. But I also asked Sufi poetry lover, who immediately and excitedly agreed and added that longing is a force of gravity. Then he showed me this poem which I would like to leave with you:
To Be A Slave of Intensity by Kabir
Friend, hope for the guest while you are alive.
Jump into experience while you are alive!
Think…and think…while you are alive.
What you call ‘salvation’ belongs to the time before death.
If you don’t break your ropes while you’re alive,
do you think
ghosts will do it after?
The idea that the soul will join with the ecstatic
Just because the body is rotten –
that is all fantasy.
What is found now is found then.
If you find nothing now,
you will simply end up with an apartment in the City of Death.
If you make love with the divine now, in the next life you will have the face of satisfied desire.
So plunge into the truth, find out who the Teacher is,
Believe in the Great Sound!
Kabir says this: When the guest is being searched for, it is the intensity of the longing for the Guest that does all the work.
Look at me, and you will see a slave of that intensity.
