Living into the Questions: New Moon in Gemini & Astro of 5/29 – 6/4
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
Coming into the present moment isn’t just good for spiritual and mental health – it’s a way of expanding the textures and depth of every given moment. Presence is a chance to let the riches of every passing moment pour out of life like overflowing fountains. Even if things aren’t perfect or we aren’t where we want to be yet, each moment is capable of being a goldmine.
We have a continual tendency to seek external gratification or project our current emotional wellbeing onto past and future circumstances – but consider reeling it in this week! Some of our planetary aspects this week reveal the treasures that appear in our lives only when we are receptive enough to tune into them, and not scanning over them, bypassing them in search of some elusive other thing.
We have a New Moon in Gemini. Mercury will form hard aspects to Jupiter and Neptune, and it may be easy for our minds to run astray or to travel to great heights of imagination. It may be useful to be intentional about how we aim or direct our minds, such as when we intentionally meditate or visualize, or intentionally engage in mantras or optimistic thinking. Additionally, Venus in Taurus will trine both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, bringing our attention to the aesthetics of our reality right here and now. It is not our task, again, to be perfect, but is it our responsibility you might say to find a way to love what is.
And welcome back! In case this is your first time here, I’m Sabrina Monarch and I’ve been writing these weekly astrology forecasts for nearly four years now. I love providing perspectives on the opportunities of transits and putting into words what the vibe may feel like at this moment in time, to support you on your path & open a dialogue between us and the cosmos. If you would like to receive these weekly forecasts to your inbox, sign up for my mailing list here.
I have a special opportunity for you. Do you want to learn how to speak the language of astrology for yourself? I have an upcoming online 45 hour Evolutionary Astrology intensive coming up in June, designed to give you the vocabulary and skillset to start forming your own astrological interpretations from the perspective of the soul. I created this course because I wanted other people to have the opportunity to have a deep personal connection to astrology which would empower them to have astrology as a personal and spiritual growth tool as something to keep long after the course is over. Past students have reported that this course is life-changing and has supported them on their spiritual path. You can read more about this course and enroll here.
Consider mental surrender – the simple act of letting yourself not know the very things you wish you knew or had locked down. It is typically more skillful to be honest that we do not know and to live into the question, than to lock down an answer just for the sake of security – a premature answer which may limit us, ultimately, into a narrower and more neurotic reality.
This “holding the question” can also translate to how our words can be creative catalysts in our communities. When we inform others of what we are seeking to know or understand, something changes. Advice, mentorship, and connections (“you should meet this person”, “you should read this book”) come to us. This is a great resource, even if you may have to sort though the occasional not-so-good or unsolicited advice that comes when we share that we are confused or are perceived to be confused.
Classically, aspects between Mercury and Neptune can relate to mental overwhelm and unclear or confusing information. We can experience more resistance as we are trying to be linear, orderly, or if we are fixated on having clarity where it may not be possible to.
When reality cannot fit into our pre-existing labels and boxes, we have the capacity to transcend small thinking. However, we cannot necessarily bypass the confusion that exists in the liminal space, this space of simply not knowing. Let there be magic in the in-between spaces before rushing off to the next place of solid ground.
This transit can be expansive for the imagination, entertaining new visions and fantasies with an openness to experience inspiration without a rigid agenda. The most inviting opportunity may not be the one we had preconceived.

Venus in 18 Taurus sextile Neptune in 18 Pisces: 9:50 AM PDT
First, a little anecdote – I got to spend time with my friend Cameron (we recorded a podcast together recently which you can listen to here) at this year’s Northwest Astrological Conference (NORWAC). He was telling me about preparing the body for digestion by rubbing your hand over your stomach and going “mmmm!” (you know, like you really mean it) and without fail, if I touch myself and make noise and perhaps laugh because it can be silly, I’m going to create some chemicals in my experience that amplify and ground me at the same time. In a culture that has long suppressed the feminine and the ecstatic, it is possible to forget how easy and simple it is to create harmony and bliss in our own bodies.
Consider what simple textures of life (smells, tastes, the feeling of wind on your skin, etc.) have disintegrated into the background of consciousness. When we bring focus back to these simple sensations and really allow ourselves to feel, pleasure becomes more abundant in our lives and we can become less compulsive about seeking our next fix of stimulation.
On a more esoteric and magnetic level, consistently bringing our attention to receive and observe the pleasure and enjoyment already present in ourselves and our environment is a fortune attractor. By fortune, we can be speaking of material wealth, spiritual wealth, beauty, good circumstances and more.
Mercury in 20 Gemini opposite Jupiter in 20 Sagittarius: 8:11 PM PDT
This alignment forms a t-square with Neptune in Pisces.
We can be contending with opposing impulses both internally and in interpersonal dynamics – one to gravitate toward the bigger picture, a direction, to have a sense of where something is going; the other to constantly shift, seek novelty, question, perceive a multiplicity of viewpoints. This can also mean we need to find balance where one is in extreme – the opinionated know-it-all versus the aimless scatter-brain.
Hyperbole, exaggeration and taking a thought to an extreme conclusion may be highly present in the field. This poses an opportunity for going astray (into more delusional threads of thought) and extreme clarity alike. How to tell the difference? It’s important to have a capacity to view/witness our thinking with detachment. With time and experience we gain more accuracy in determining which thought waves are just the right ones to catch & to activate with our participation, and which ones we can let go by.

Venus in 19 Taurus trine Saturn in 19 Capricorn: 8:26 AM PDT
We may tend toward depression if our values are not materially or substantially reflected in our lives, such as: the way we dress does not communicate our aesthetic, what we consume does not reflect our ethics, what we feel interpersonally is suppressed and never brought into dialogue & a repeating pattern of inauthenticity only accumulates.
We may become very present with ourselves, very intimate with ourselves, in being honest and real about where the discrepancies are between our values, and our reality. It is important to do this without shame, and with compassion, so that we can feel empowered to make a shift.
Consider as well how making good choices is cumulative. We can gain positive momentum consistently by making choices that reflect our values. Find the power in the little things that tip your reality into the next level.
Venus in 22 Taurus trine Pluto in 22 Capricorn: 8:41 PM PDT
If we are feeling some struggle or angst in terms of having what we want in life and feeling secure, it can be easier this week to trace and locate its energetic threads. At deeper and more unconscious levels, how are we regarding our own worthiness?
If we have shame about having what we want, whether it’s a vibrant sex life or more money or more social recognition or anything else we desire, it is important to simply release that shame. We have to find ways to encounter our desires in a way we ethically connect with. There is so much trauma and energetic entanglement around money and sex for example, but those are basic needs. What do we really feel about these aspects of reality, and what have we collected from cultural or personal trauma?
It may be important this week to bring things from mental or upper-chakra spaces into the body and root/sacral chakras. Take what is only an idea (something you value such as your self-worth, your safety, etc.) and visualize it moving down to your roots. Say your affirmations with authority. Release the thought forms that are not truthful or in service through your roots and into the earth, where they can be recycled into the universal flow the same way that dead plants decompose and eventually become new life.

New Moon in 12 Gemini: 3:02 AM PDT
This New Moon opposes Jupiter in Sagittarius, and at the Full Moon the Moon will be conjunct Jupiter. Both the New and the Full Moon aspect Neptune, highlighting the ongoing Jupiter-Neptune square.
This New Moon heralds a growing awareness of the role of teachers in our lives – how we are teachers, and who our teachers and mentors are – human and nonhuman alike.
Being a teacher is not about perfect knowledge or knowing everything – it’s about making meaning out of what we’ve learned and helping along those who are on the path and coming up against obstacles and challenges we’ve already contended with and overcome.
Being a teacher is also about offering a unique viewpoint which would expand another person’s thinking or help to alleviate another person’s suffering.
The places and topics in our lives that hold the most charge and curiosity for us, the things we love to voraciously learn, are also areas where we are capable of being teachers (now or eventually), sharing and passing on what we have learned that we are so authentically connected to.
In another way of looking at this, it is also the things that captivate our curiosity and enthusiasm that connect us with the bigger meta “path” in our life. Sometimes we do not have the big picture, but if we can tune in with what sparks us and brings us alive and see where that trail leads us, we will find connections and opportunities. If you can’t see the big picture yet, don’t let that stop you from investing in the seemingly random pursuits that captivate you.

Mercury enters Cancer: 1:04 PM PDT
Mercury will stay in Cancer until June 26.
Mercury in Cancer brings us into conversation with our feelings and how to put them into words so that we can bridge our interior, subjective realities with the realities of people in our lives that we are in communion with.
Emotional intelligence is emphasized with Mercury in Cancer.
We may also experience or be drawn to softer forms of communication where we use gentleness or care to deliver messages rather than harshness or “saying it how it is” without consideration of how the message will land. This can be beneficial in situations where care and safety is needed – perhaps with someone in a vulnerable or sensitive spot. Beware, however, that the focus on how a message will land can also be connected to manipulation, however well intended. Sometimes conversations are going to be uncomfortable (still respectful and non-abusive) and that is okay.
