People with emphasized Scorpio, Pluto, or 8th house dynamics will have soul-turning time periods where before something new comes in there is a potent feeling of emptiness. Or something old is phasing out so it’s a “death” cycle. Moon in Scorpio or Moon in the 8th house people will go under from time to time and are no strangers to the void. This also comes with Pluto transits or outer planets transiting the 8th house.
Without astrological context, it reads simply as depression.
I think we could all struggle less with depressive times if we had a mythic or symbolic context to place them into and also if we could recognize these episodes as part of a cycle (emptiness before the cup fills again) instead of taking it to mean something more formative about our identities or our futures.
What meditative outlooks or activities get you through the doldrums? I have a whole toolkit – Moon-Pluto necessitates. These time periods can even become pleasurable like tilling your own private psychic zen garden.

December 23, 2015 at 10:24 amTimely. Transiting Pluto is exactly conjunct my Venus today (got a lovely Moon, Venus, Sun stellium in Capricorn – natally square Pluto). It doesn’t make sense at this time of year but I’ve been on a break from my creative business. Some might call it depression. When it hits, I escape into the 12th house and talk to my Gemini Jupiter there.
