Full Moon in Libra & Liberating Ourselves to Liberate One Another: Astrology of 4/17 – 4/23

There is something in the air, and it’s about freedom.

We can travel to epic heights of imagination, we can educate ourselves, we can access new opportunities, but we cannot free ourselves if we don’t also make the decision to unhook ourselves wherever we are bonded to disempowerment. Whether that disempowerment is mobilized through our thoughts, beliefs, choices, relationships, patterns, or habits, there comes a moment where our awareness keenly recognizes and sees through the bullshit. We stop believing and accepting the stories, even if those stories were connected to our security – like we don’t like the pain we feel, but we’re used to it. We don’t know what comes next if we let go of these stories – but we suddenly have the energy and the faith to live into a new reality.

Those of us who are on self-development or self-discovery paths (and if you’re reading this, I can bet you are!) know that there are moments where you have a breakthrough of realizing that the obstacle that was blocking you from the thing you desired in life was not your external circumstance. You didn’t have to work so hard to try to manipulate or alter reality. There was a subtle, profound shift you were capable of making in your very own soul and heart that changed everything. Your core magnetism shifted, and it changed not only your perception but the way life responded to you. Because of our embededness to a living world and universe, your change necessarily influenced reality. This was a deep power from within you. Consider this week what your relationship to this kind of power is. How would you lean into it?

The English language does not differentiate between shadow and benevolent power in the word “power” which is unfortunate. Abuse and power are different qualities. We have many examples of “misuse of power” but we would benefit from imagining power through the paradigm of care. When does power enhance our lives and our ability to make a positive impact? When does our empowerment and personal liberation gift us the opportunity to become who we are, and gift others with the opportunity to interact with and be sparked by a being who is standing in their power? We have the opportunity to offer our gifts, and to do so we have to grant ourselves the freedom and power that is inherent within us.

Here’s our week, after a few announcements.

Have you been wanting to learn astrology or deepen your relationship to astrology? I’m running an Intro to Evolutionary Astrology Intensive starting June 9! This is an opportunity to learn the system of Evolutionary Astrology, a type of astrology which helps us evolve. By studying the archetypes from the perspective of their archs of transformation (from shadow potentials to actualized ones), we gain a living map of how to interact with archetypes more skillfully. The techniques of Evolutionary Astrology also allow us to gain a narrative map of why we were compelled to incarnate in this life and prior ones, what we have developed, what we are developing, and how we can set into our purpose as souls having a human experience. It is an absolutely life-changing and empowering body of knowledge and I am so excited to share it with you! This comprehensive program is 45 hours and is designed to give you the foundations to be able to read your own chart and others charts from the perspective of the soul. Literally a game-changer. Read more and enroll here.

I’ve also recently launched a new podcast! It’s called The Magic of the Spheres and you can find it where you listen to podcasts. I’ve been loving hearing your feedback so far! If you rate and review it on iTunes (and take a screenshot before you click submit) and email it to me at sabrina@monarchastrology.com by May 4, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a 45 minute transit reading (an offer not available on my website). I will select TEN winners because I want you to have a higher chance of winning than if I only was choosing one! I’ll announce winners on the blog here & by email to the winners. Please help me get this podcast off the ground – your review will help the show’s visibility and my ability to bring on guests. I’m so excited to be starting this adventure and I aim to spread empowering and transformative ideas over our shared airwaves!

Full Moon in 29 Libra: 4:12 AM PDT

The Full Moon axis squares the nodes of the Moon, with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on the South Node. The Moon is forming a last quarter square to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, signifying a transformation in consciousness as to how we address limitation or the unconscious conditioning of our individual and collective pasts. This transformation may necessarily be felt, because the Moon (which relates to our feelings) is involved. Despite the drive we possess to keep things the same – to be secure – we are challenged to upgrade our hardware/software – however you want to look at it!

  • The current dynamic of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on the South Node of the Moon is very significant – we may be subtly or obviously purging something – some old limitation, oppression, self-imprisonment, internalized judgement. These dynamics may have been deeply unconscious or forces which we project externally. Regardless of what is happening in our external lives and in the greater social matrix, this alignment invites us to discover where we have dimly accepted our own disempowerment and where we truly have power that we didn’t believe we had.

  • A Full Moon in Libra can propel us toward greater equity and reciprocity. Consider that when we liberate ourselves we are allowing greater relationship to unfold between us and all of reality. Why are we not stepping into our power? Why are we hiding our magic? When we liberate ourselves, the universe reveals new dimensions of herself to us.

  • This Full Moon is an invitation to experience a breakthrough in connection. The breakthrough is necessarily preceded by an obstacle – otherwise there would be nothing to break through. Our ability to name and recognize limiting, detrimental dynamics which had before been unconscious makes space for us to make a change.

Sun enters Taurus: 1:55 AM PDT

  • Taurus Season opens with the Sun close to Uranus in Taurus (forming a conjunction later in the week). For around the last seven years when Uranus was Aries, we’ve likely had a more radical experience with the Aries archetype or revolutions in our life have been fiery and “interruption”-based but now we are moving into more of a “curation” or “cultivation” based revolution.. For the next seven years while Uranus is in Taurus, it is the Taurus archetype that becomes radicalized! This can mean that many of our breakthroughs are sourced through cultivation, steadiness, embodiment, and aligning with our values. We might picture our lives as a garden. By staying values-focused, we may weed and plant themes in and out of our lives accordingly. Over time, we wake up in a changed world.

  • Taurus directs us inward, to the path of discovering and cultivating what we place esteem in. Often this process can call us to seek solitude, slowness, and stillness. The busy-ness of life appears to be more overwhelming and less pleasing, and we want to take our sweet time doing something like learning how to forage and cook with wild plants or or cultivating our wardrobe. We can become more selective around how we want to be influenced. Increased alone time may call us because we are wanting to figure out who we are for ourselves, and get a sense of our own essence.

  • Something we can do to bring more brightness in our lives during Taurus season is to invest energy in the recognition and tending of beauty, and to become inspired by our sensory experiences.

Venus enters Aries: 9:10 AM PDT

Venus will stay in Aries until May 15.

(Watch this video! It’s a fabulous message for Venus in Aries)

  • Women (associated with the feminine/Venus) have long been conditioned to not be in touch with their anger – to be as yielding, accepting, and accommodating as possible. Whenever it is expressed that Venus is not “comfortable” in Aries I can’t help but to see a correlation to social conditioning and social judgment in that. Venus expresses herself/themselves through all of the zodiac signs and has business in each of those signs. When Venus is in Aries, the arts of Venus may be expressed through fierceness. There can be a reversal of that normal conditioning to be polite, yielding, or overly accommodating.

  • When Venus passes through Aries, it calls to me as a reminder to recognize the inherent passion, fire, and fierceness with the Venus archetype – and to allow space for that within relationship. The patriarchal pattern of suppressing or shaming women’s anger —> out. The allyship of loving the fierceness in your friends and loved ones —> in.

April 22, 2019:

Sun in 2 Taurus conjunct Uranus in 2 Taurus: 4:07 PM PDT

  • A whole new world is available to us as we upgrade and level up our self-esteem, our sense of worthiness and what we believe we deserve. More powerful than this happening exclusively in the mind, though, is when it happens in the body and the energy body. Healing modalities that address the body (somatic work, acupuncture, EFT/tapping, etc.) can be supportive, revolutionary anchors in this process. This can also relate to how we touch ourselves, how we talk to ourselves (aloud or in our interior thoughts) when we look at our body or look in the mirror, etc. Imagine what it would be like to relate to ourselves from a fundamental ground of freedom in our own participation in the divine. Free from social programming around what body features of ours are attractive and which aren’t. Free to explore ourselves as uniquely beautiful and worthy beings.

  • Know that you are worth it and know that sometimes this is work. Having a vibrant, world-opening relationship to ourselves is “work” just as a relationship with another person is. The gift of the relationship we have to ourselves, however, is that it literally informs every other sphere of our lives. It is primary and this is a place of big impact and liberation.

April 23, 2019:

Venus in 3 Aries conjunct Chiron in 3 Aries: 9:55 AM PDT

  • Chiron transits often can be painful, so I wanted to let you guys know this one is happening! Chiron is an asteroid that relates to a wound which puts is in touch with our soul – perhaps a wound that we carry with us from life to life and whenever it gets touched it echoes back to pain that is difficult to understand – a pain that teaches us, or initiates us. You can read more about my perspective on Chiron in this article, Chiron is your Medicinal Property. (LINK)

  • Venus-Chiron contacts pose initiatory trials that occur in the realm of love or self-esteem. It is like the archetype of a relationship coach/healer whose deep contact with the wounds and trials of love informs their ardent curiosity to heal themselves and help others.

  • It may feel a little or a lot prickly out here in the relational field! If you feel triggered this week see if you can reframe it or rediscover it as a kind of initiation. Triggers are inherently related to transformation. If the pattern or the resistance was embedded and unseen, we wouldn’t feel triggered. Being triggered means we are becoming more self-aware of something that doesn’t resonate with us and we are stepping into the possibility of a new reality.

  • Some challenging themes arising for transformation may be: competition within relationship, the struggle for independence within relationship, the struggle of feeling alone or isolated, wounding around naivete, the need to develop courage in relationship or courage to face rejection, relationships with bully-like figures or aggressors, suppressed or overly-expressed relationship to anger.

  • If you are someone who likes to pray or do ritual, this may be an opportunity to mark a threshold cross. Do you have an old pattern or wound you would like to thank for its lessons, acknowledge, and open up the pathway to a new reality?

  • Remember as well that there is a sacred dimension to our wounds when we learn how to dialogue with them and learn from them rather than being purely compelled to just get rid of them as quickly as possible. If there is a part of you calling out for help and acknowledgment, how could you show up for this part of yourself?

Thank you for meditating on the planets with me this week! I really appreciate you being here with me as I know that if you connect to this writing we have likemindedness and that is so special. Please share this article with a friend who you think would resonate!
