Naturally, Leo Season draws us to explore the stage of life, where we experience ourselves at the center of a great drama. We are curious about the character we are playing and how to play this character to the fullest. At the Full Moon during Leo Season, the light of the Sun fully illuminates the Moon in Aquarius, and we come into awareness of how our “character” is part of a vaster network. Perhaps we experience insight around how we are inevitably part of a web – how the environment and community around us has and continues to shape us, as well as how we influence and create impact in the universe around us.
The Full Moon in Aquarius is an opportunity for breakthrough, but a breakthrough that is inspired by our investment in the personal. The dramas. The things that pull at our heart. The ego, even. Eventually these “scenes” make way for a bigger picture or bird’s eye view.
Leo is connected to inheriting and living out our brilliance and gifts in this lifetime. It is connected to being special and feeling fulfilled and abundant in purpose. Aquarius offers us the counterpart of detachment, which allows us to see perspectives outside of our own, which we then can re-integrate into our choices around how we navigate this life.
This week has the potential to bring insights which remove us from being so IN the stories. We may also experience the downloads of how to jump back into the story with newly updated software. We’re still here to live and be these characters! Every now and then (or perhaps all the time if you’re into astrology ;), we just need a moment to zoom out and see the bigger picture.
“Do you have the strength to sit with each moment?
Identify your place in the scheme
And then own it?
Zoom out and see the overall picture
Take the thoughts with ya
Use pen to draft scripture
In the folds of time
The annals remind
Of the missteps that crumbled kingdoms, and we find
Amidst the ruins
strands of grass now grew in
Displaying that the birth of an era had been looming
The new information breathes some new energy
A positive vibe that is available plentifully
What would you do with it?
Be a true cynic?
Or will your legacy show that you grew with it?
Take the path that leads to more light
Don’t miss out
This is your chance to shine bright…” – excerpt from the song Shine Bright by The Polish Ambassador and Ayla Nereo

Full Moon in 22 Aquarius: 5:29 AM PDT
(Image: Chris Foss)
The Sun in Leo is part of a stellium with Venus, Juno and Mars in Leo. Vesta in Taurus forms a t-square to the Sun and Moon. Pallas Athena in Libra forms a sextile to the Sun and trines the Moon. Here are some potential themes!
Pride versus Respect
-
A virtue of Leo is becoming full of self – not in the way this phrase is typically used with negative connotation, but in a noble way – stepping into our creative birthright, claiming our inherent nobility and specialness. This is not even about what we do, though our actions have a way of reflecting us. It is about who we are at the center of our being, and the way that we radiate from this center of being.
-
Leo is also bringing us in touch with the axis of pride, self-respect and dignity, and helpful and harmful iterations of this axis. Being too prideful to be vulnerable can have negative effects. However, coming into self-respect and asserting one’s inherent dignity (as bell hooks says, “You’ve got to learn to leave the table when love’s no longer being served.”) may be helpful. With Mars also in Leo, pride and self-respect are creating incisions – a knife is only as helpful or harmful as its application.
-
According to David R. Hawkins research presented in Power vs. Force, pride is a low-vibrational energy, but not the lowest. It has a way of pulling people out of despair and creating a degree of empowerment. Think for example, of someone who is pining after someone who rejected them. Self-respect may be the voice that says, “you do not need someone who does not prefer you.” Pride may say something similar, but with more haughtiness and pettiness (“I’m too good for them”) and can easily become a form of self-undoing (“pride before the fall”). Self-respect can do what pride does, with less baggage.
-
At a higher level, having respect for self and others negates the need for pride. We can become egoically absorbed in the stories we create around things like not being liked or not liking others, and these stories have a way of separating and isolating us.
-
Peacemaking and reconciliation may come into play when insults to individuals’ dignity has been exchanged in such a way that is actually a misunderstanding. We are coming into expanded awareness of others, and how their consciousness is structured uniquely and differently from our own.
-
If you have any situations in life that are evoking pride, see if experimenting with the vibration of respect as an alternative has any way of positively altering the situation or your peace with the situation.
Signalling
-
The Moon in full light in the sign of Aquarius can be a reveal of how our signals have managed to come across. Aquarius is a force that helps us attune, to communicate, or signal in a way that is accurately received – or otherwise we feel the experience of alienation and being misunderstood. This lunation can spark introspection around how we have been successful communicators in some way, or if we need to adopt new strategies.
-
As an example of signaling, I’ll share a personal anecdote. In my early twenties I loved wearing all black. It wasn’t an intentional statement. I thought it was sleek and catlike, and it made it easy to dress. I received multiple comments about it (with people’s projections of what it meant that I wore all black). One day at a cafe, a woman came up to me with a drawing she had made of me – which was kind – and a poem she had written for me, called “Beautiful Goth Girl”. While flattered by the drawing and poem, I was also a little offended! But it wasn’t like she was the first to misread me. I began to wear more color because I was tired of people misreading the symbolism of my all-black attire. I also wanted to know what life would be like, or what alternate reflections I would receive from people, if I dressed in color.
-
This act of “signaling” comes across in the way we dress or adorn, the posture we carry ourselves with, the vernacular we use, the attitudes we express subliminally and explicitly, and so on. This signal can be tuned into different stations and different intentions – we may even master a signal that isn’t really that authentic to us! Signaling holds a mix of both Leo and Aquarius: Leo in the sense that we can emanate the self, and Aquarius in the sense that we can be attuned to how the message is going to be picked up. For someone offering a service and creating a brand, a signal is designed to be both authentic to the person, but also meant to reach an ideal audience by speaking particularly to that demographic. In dating, we may signal we are looking for something casual or we may signal that we are looking for commitment. Energetically, we may signal that we are accepting and loving, and we can also signal distrust and disdain. Watch for growing clarity in what kinds of signals we are putting out and the reflections they are drawing out in others.
Intelligent Generosity
-
Intention isn’t always enough. Sometimes we need to adjust according to how the signal is being picked up – Aquarius helps us see reality from other people’s point of view. This isn’t about being inauthentic. Rather, it’s like giving a gift someone actually wants to receive, versus giving a gift we only think they want.
-
Discovering how to share our gifts more, or how to create higher levels of resonance within our reality and relational field, is often a breakthrough! Sometimes the download comes spontaneously and sometimes it may come through research. Whatever it is – consider your openness to new points of view as fertile ground for lightning to strike.

Mercury in 6 Leo square Uranus in 6 Taurus: 10:07 AM PDT
By now, Mercury has also left retrograde shadow.
-
Mercury-Uranus transits are ripe for receiving downloads – epiphanies, lightbulb moments. This transit can relate to bursts of creative inspiration as well as an opportunity to re-cognize stuck, stagnant situations in a more playful light. Up for re-thinking is anywhere in your life that inspires a mood of total drudgery. We may have the capacity to endure the drudgery, but why should we if we could find a way to make a game out of it?

Mars enters Virgo: 10:18 PM PDT
Mars will stay in Virgo until October 3.
-
Mars in Virgo can correlate with a spike in drive and motivation to handle tasks and knock things off our to-do list.
-
Besides will and assertion of will, Mars does also relate to defensiveness. Virgo, while at once articulate and thoughtful and conscientious, also has the capacity to be avoidant, to come up with excuses or to not feel ready to do things. So if we are not feeling that drive to take care of the little tasks we are assigned, we may be feeling extra avoidant. If you see this occurring for you, experiment with what happens if you take the initiative to just do the tasks you’re avoiding. It’s likely to be vitalizing! Mars in Virgo can certainly burn through the energetic clutter that accumulates when we avoid or put-off addressing the necessary little details of life.
-
Taking care of little tasks and to-do list items is not only about the tasks in of themselves – taking care of these things moves our reality forward. Sometimes this is obvious and causal, other times far more energetic/subtle. Avoiding items on a to-do list is a special kind of stagnation which Mars in Virgo would give us the vital life force to confront and engage with action, instead.
